Guidelines for Submitting to Belgrave House

Belgrave House is currently only acquiring previously (paper) published fiction to offer as ebooks.

We are especially interested in publishing women's fiction, mysteries, contemporary and historical romance. Our sister site, Regency Reads, is acquiring Regency and Georgian romance. Most of our ebooks sell for $5.

We offer ebooks in various formats: PDF, Microsoft Reader (LIT), Mobipocket (PRC), PDB (Palm, eReader), HTML, Word, Rich Text Format, RB (Rocket and ebookwise), and KML (Hiebook), etc. We don't encrypt our ebooks. With several formats we offer a cover graphic as part of the design of the ebook.

Our intention is to run a casual publishing partnership with authors [not agents] interested in making their backlists available as ebooks. By this, we mean we prefer a "gentleman's agreement" with our authors on the following items:

We only accept books to which you have the reverted rights.
We hope authors can provide a clean Word (or similar) file of the text, but we are willing to scan in the paper book provided to us, and request that the author proofread the resulting file.
We convert your files to all our ebook formats.
We share revenue 50-50. On the Belgrave House site you would get the full 50%; on some sites where we make them available (Fictionwise, ebooks.com, etc.) they are discounted 35-50% plus specials, but reach a wider audience.
Authors will receive an accounting on their ebook sales monthly, when $25 in sales have been achieved. [This item is subject to revision as progress in building sales becomes more clear.]
We encourage authors to direct traffic to our site so their ebooks can be sold here.
Authors may withdraw their ebooks at any time, BUT:
If authors wish to withdraw their ebooks within the first six months, they will reimburse Belgrave House for the cost of formatting their ebooks and revising the website to offer and then remove them ($100).
