E.J. Lake grew up in Minnesota, but spent several years living abroad, in Italy, Greece, and South Africa. She holds her doctorate in microbiology and is a long-time reader of science fiction, having a particular interest in the intersection between science fiction and science itself.
Ms. Lake has published articles and a book in the fields of microbiology and the philosophy of science. She has also published several Regency romances (available on Regency Reads) and one modern, as Amy Lake. She currently lives in Washington state, where she kayaks, hikes, and teaches classes in biology and Greek.
