Irena Nieslony was born in England, but has lived on the island of Crete, Greece, since the year 2000. She has always loved to write and started her writing career a couple of years ago. Irena first had articles and short stories published, before her first novel, Dangerous Affair, was published in July 2012. Her second novel, Dead in the Water, was published in March 2013, and she is currently working on her third novel. She is particularly keen on writing murder mysteries and plans to write a series of books based around the characters from her first novel.
Irena graduated from the University of London with an honors degree in Drama and English, and worked as an actor, puppeteer and voice-over artiste for a number of years. After a few years of dull office jobs, she ran a café bar with her husband at the marina where they lived on their steel boat.
When not writing, Irena enjoys cooking and listening to music. She's also kept busy looking after the many cats and dogs she and her husband have adopted from the numerous strays found on Crete.
